Korean Celery
A PERENNIAL
This plant is endemic to the Ullung Island in Korea in the Sea of Japan. It is a cold hardy edible perennial. Its taste is something between celery and lovage. You can eat the young leaves, stems but the flowers look pretty in the garden too. They can grow up to two metres tall but usually between 90-120cm high. There is a low germination rate of seeds.
Hardy down to zone 5.

Seeding in January
I found an old water dispenser bottle, sawed through the plastic so it was a 1 to 5 ratio, drilled a few holes in the bottom section for drainage. Then filled wit a mixture of compost and vermiculite. Lightly watered then added 5 Korean celery seeds, lightly cover in them in the compost mix. Add the top section of the bottle to make a mini greenhouse.
Queen of Recycling
January planting making a mini greenhouse in the polytunnel
After making the mini green house I added extra insulation around the base by recycling polystyrene package to build a wall.
